Not exactly horror [Feb. 21st, 2010|05:38 pm]
Thrift Shop Horrors
Ok, so maybe not all of these things are horrors. Maybe none of them.
But I was on vacation in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) and went to the Antique's mall. It was full (two levels) of amazing antique stuff and general junk.
Here are some of the photos that I took.
I hope you like them.

Check out this real slot machine!

Here is a shot of the mall from the second level. You can see both levels of awesome.

I think I would laugh so hard if I actually saw this on someone's house

There were so many old books and bottles through the mall

I took a picture of this because my gf is terribly into typewriters. This one would have been awesome to add to her collection, as it was only $55.00, but I could not get it home.

Tons of cabniets full of old things

Both my gf and I thought this would make a wonderful addition to our imaginary library

Tacky Jesus offers you salvation

Not only did they have famous knights, but cowboys and pirates too!

I really wanted this...

To be honest, this just kind of freaked me out...

I wish pops still came in glass bottles. They taste better that way.

Is anyone sure of what Tabac is?

Xena; before she had her own tv show!

I'm not sure whether or not something else is supposed to be in his other hand, but he didn't pour things like he was supposed to anyways : (

Could you just imagine walking into someone's basement and seeing this set up at his bar?

Vintage books

I didn't know Canada Dry had cola!

This looks like fun!

I loved Darkwing duck as a kid... and as an adult...

Personal favorite.
Don't give me none of that low quality pollution, only the best. I feel like drinking something with this label should give me Hulk like powers.

Here's Pollution beside the other medical tablet, Elixir of life. I picked up both of these because they were just too awesome to pass up.

I certianly don't remember magnitized little hand held games from when I was a kid, but they sure were fun to play with that day.

Antler carved into dragon

Weird Lamp

Old containers

Plus old paint containers as well.

One of the R2D2 coolers that 7-11 had.

Best I can tell, this is an ashtray

I found this informative

Star Trek paint by numbers

Pieces of childhood

And last, and scariest of all...

Married with children action figures!

Close up of the Al doll. Words cannot discribe..

Hope you enjoyed this wacky trip to the antiques mall.

That's Hercules action figure should be on failblog.org...since it isn't Hercules.

I bet that Ed Bundy action figure would be worth some money, since he's on Modern Family now.

Tabac is either tobacco or a sort of pharmacy, both meanings are French.

Agreed. These are the kinds of stores that I like to waste a few hours in.

In fact, this post is so anti-horror that it needs to be the leading post in some sort of ThriftHeaven community.

Is that Ed O'Neill as Al Bundy or Richard Nixon?

(I never knew Married... had action figures, or much merchandising at all.)

Woah, pretty awesome stuff here! I would so get that Darkwing Duck bank. XD And that vintage microphone was cool. I'm a bit of a sucker for broadcasting history. ^_^

I'm with YOU!

The hole is so you can fill it with ice, and put drinks in it, which could be handy at a party/BBQ...

I'd probably keep my stuffed animals in it, though. Or my huge sneaker collection. I'd think of SOMETHING, that's for damn sure.

Also, icon <3!

That does seem to be what that odd thing is best at...hiding...slightly.
