"I felt like we were going to be buried!"

My best friend and I are going to be part of an antique auctioned themed burlesque show (if anyone is in the NYC area and is 21+ it's at the Cave Lounge by Port Authority on May 23rd), and she is doing an act involving her singing while she is the "pin" to an old record player... so we went to a flea market in search of it...

There was an actual tattoo place in this indoor flea market. But don't worry, it's family oriented.

My friend then saw signs for a "huge!" comic book/magazine place, so we followed the signs to find this...

Yeah... the whole cubicle looked like this. Seriously.

My friend Luna Chase showing you all how horrifying this was... And let me quote myself, "Get away from there or you're going to get buried alive!"

Photobucket
DID BRITNEY CHEAT ON JUSTIN?! We will never know since this magazine is buried somewhere within that flea market.

She ended up buying 2 old copies of Jane (since it's out of print), and she found her record player for $20! So it wasn't a total lost. I'm sorry more pictures didn't come of this, but if you are in the South Jersey Area, Collingswood Auction Flea Market. It's horrifying.

This IS horrifying. Holy crap, just back up a dumpster and turn this into the recycling facility. I love books, and I hate to see them mistreated like this.

I used to go to this particular flea market every weekend as a tot. I kind of miss it. The flea market is still there, but nobody wants to go with me anymore, and it's no fun going alone. XD

a random guy came up to us and looked us over, then said, "Hey girls... need, uh, anything?"

NO. NO. NO. WE DON'T.

Aww, I miss Jane. How did she ever find them in that "stack"?

We found a ton of them while wading our way out. I couldn't believe finding stuff myself, I liked the horror comics personally. But I couldn't bring myself to buy them.

this reminds me of Mallrats when they went to a Jersey flea market. do they have 3-nippled psychics there?

You know what's funny? We passed a psychic "booth"... and I thought that same thing.

I used to stop by a comic shop--not a thrift-type place that happened to sell comics, but a place that existed with the sole intent to sell comics--that looked exactly. like. that. If you were willing to excavate, you could find some cherries since the guy had no idea what was in there. If there was a filing system, I'm sure it was in Russian or Latin or Olde Tymey Prospector.
